Interview with the Artist Katarzyna Widmanska

August 21, 2017 | Author: webSman

In my photography there is death, darkness, weirdness and elements of mysticism.

Q: How long have you been an artist? Please tell us a little about your chosen medium.

A: I have started to take photos about ten years ago. I discovered photography then and nearly at once I realized this is it-the best medium that will allow me to express myself.

Q: Have you been trained, and if so from what institution? Or are you self taught?

A: I’ve finished art studies but as a photographer I’m self-taught.

Q: What inspires your creations?

A: Hard to say, but I think in general everything, it’s always the same path: suddenly in my head appears a concept, vision or most often almost ready picture.

Q: Was your family supportive of your artistic endeavors?

A: Yes, my parents are artists so I had and I still have a lot of support from them.

Q: Is there someone special who has encouraged your work and your path as an artist?

A: No it just came out of nowhere.

Q: What are your hopes and dreams or future goals?

A: I hope I will have enough time and energy to realize all of my concepts- still emerging new ones.

Q: If you could do any project with full funding what would it be?

A: I would like to go for a few month trip with a circus and do a photo reportage.

Q: If you could meet any artist who is no longer living, who would it be and why?

A: Witkacy he was polish painter, photographer and writer with awesome personality, I just would like to talk with him for a while.
