Q: The first thing that strikes me when I look at your art is the beautiful, deeply emotive and exaggerated eyes. What compels you to create them in this way?

Q: Tell me something about your history in the creative arts. Did you have a formal school education or are you self taught?
A: Because I was a bit of an oddball loner kid I had a fair amount of free time on my hands – time I spent in the classic solitary pursuits of reading, writing and drawing. more » “Isabel Samaras – Exclusive Interview”
Daniel Murtagh has been working as a portrait photographer since 1995. Upon graduating from Pratt Institute he moved to New Mexico and later to San Francisco, where he spent the next six years defining a style of work that continues to evolve. He has worked on assignments for magazines such as Soma, San Francisco, Health, Splash, Men’s Health, and Hippocrates, and his work has appeared in Elle, Shots, American Photographer and Photo Icon. His images have appeared on over 80 book covers. In 2000 he returned to his native New York. In 2013 Daniel exhibited in the Month of Photography show in Denver Co. and will be on board as one of its curators in Denver in 2015 as well as exhibitor the event. In addition to photography, he works in film and sound. He has made six films, among which The Last Judgement was shown at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg Russia

Detlef Koertge grew up in Germany before he moved to the United States in 1997. He met his artisan wife Debra and decided to stay and live with his family in the United States. Detlef started his photographic excursions when he was 12 years old but he only got serious about portrait photography in 2007. He never had a formal education in visual arts or photography and frustration with his photographic results led him to sell his photography equipment multiple times over the years.
