Jonathan Kane

Jonathan Kane is an artist and photographer who lives and works in Naples, Florida. After pursuing undergraduate art degrees from the University of Florida and the San Francisco Art Institute, he embarked on a 15 year career in the financial industry before returning to his Florida roots to pursue art.

Jonathan’s interest in photography developed early on in high school. After graduation, he was a society photographer for the Naples Star newspaper. With a long time interest in portraits and the raw human figure, Jonathan adds color and texture to delve deep into the highly emotional imagery of his pieces. Kane does not plan his pieces before the creation process- he allows them to freely develop and come into existence entirely on their own.

His extraordinary style combines the use of a computer as an art making tool (he designs 3-d models of his paintings as a guide first) as well as the intimacy of painting (he then completely hand paints the imagery onto panel).
