The Art of Morgan Slade

Morgan Slade received his BFA in photography in 2002 from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He has shot for several magazines including Swindle, Anthem, Juxtapoz, OUT Magazine, Western Interiors & Design and many others. Morgan has exhibited both photography and mixed media work in galleries including solo shows at Copro Gallery and Billy Shire Fine Arts. He has worked in the publishing industry, including heading US production for fine art book publisher TASCHEN.

Morgan Slade is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work explores the symbolic shorthand of corporate logos and brand identities that permeate American consumer culture.

Morgan Slade appropriates these symbols and places them in the context of his paintings as a way to alter their symbolic status, redefine their meaning, and create his own personal vocabulary.
His work makes prominent use of the female form as a way to anchor the pieces and confront the symbolism behind the female form, her poses, and attire as interpreted by society.

Elizabeth McGrath Art

Inspired by the relationship between the natural world and the detritus of consumer culture, she brings forth a new cavalcade of creatures from the darker corners of the streets, the city, the imagination. more » “Elizabeth McGrath Art”

Rock and Roll Sweetheart

In an era when stores sell ‘lifestyles’ to go with your jeans and when you can get a head-to-toe identity with your American Apparel body suit – Aubrey Shepherd is a stand out. In this photo essay you will see a gorgeous girl with doe eyes and a perfect model’s figure, what you don’t see is the part where she showed up to the photo shoot toting her own wardrobe bags and hat boxes full of vintage finds, tupperware containers of jewelry from the 50’s and 60’s, and a self made style glued together from scraps of bygone glamour. Aubery Shepherd is an original. more » “Rock and Roll Sweetheart”
