Q: How long have you been an artist? Please tell us a little about your chosen medium, what got you started as a photographer? Do you do any other creative arts?

A: Drawing has always been my favorite child-play, I’ve always spent my free time creating, manipulating, sewing, making costumes and accessories. I began casually to take photos, first of myself, after that of some friends of mine, then in 2009 I started to portrait young women all around Italy, where I live in, mixing photography and digital art, combining reality and my imagination. more » “Interview with the Artist Cunene”

The show is called ‘Rental Asylum’ — as we all need to rent a place somewhere far from today’s actual reality, don’t we? And all our creatures on canvas are the happy patients of our rental asylum. They all have different reasons for checking in with us, for a bit, before facing the shit show our world has become.

In his latest show, Passing Time (opening February 2 at La Luz de Jesus Gallery), Dan Barry has assembled pieces whose themes are simultaneously intensely personal and universal: mortality, loss, connection, family.

Q: Please tell us about your show that opens on December 6th at Parione 9 Gallery in
Rome. Where did the name Homeberries come from?
