Q: How long have you been painting, and what made you choose the water theme?
A: Water has been present in my paintings for many years, but never as an active element of the story. It became a foreground theme with a painting of a little sea goddess “Aphrodite with a Kitten” for “My Parallel Lives” series in 2013. For the Haunted series I wanted images that didn’t look like a typical ghost image, I wanted something that was beautiful with an edge of a nightmare quality, like you would see in a film like the Ring.
I took the photographs we made at the abandoned warehouse, the old rail station and the graveyard and overlaid them with photos I had taken underwater. The water images have an ethereal feeling to them and when mixed with the headshots I got an image that looked distorted in an interesting way. They remind me a little of the mirrors from an amusement park, or a surreal dream. There was a lot of experimenting with these images for Specter and at least half of them did not make the cut.
Caitlin Fisher did a wonderful job with the pale makeup and smoky eyes on Alanna and Jacqueline, but I also added quite a lot to the images in post production to change the tone of the skin and add color in places. This is a process much like painting, only I use digital brushes on layers, and some painterly applications.

Uninhibited by any sense of natural order, Kehoe is known for his mixed-media work of human-animal hybrids set in forested backgrounds. I picked up my first camera at age 14 so I could photograph the fall colors in Ontario. Since that time I have been most inspired by the natural landscape. Once I moved to Vancouver Island I knew I had found my home, my favorite place being that area where land meets ocean. About 10 years ago I also began to photograph nudes in the landscape, primarily the west coast rainforest. I never cease to feel wonder when in these beautiful places.
Q: How long have you been an artist? Please tell us a little about your chosen medium, what got you started as a photographer? Do you do any other creative arts?
A: Drawing has always been my favorite child-play, I’ve always spent my free time creating, manipulating, sewing, making costumes and accessories. I began casually to take photos, first of myself, after that of some friends of mine, then in 2009 I started to portrait young women all around Italy, where I live in, mixing photography and digital art, combining reality and my imagination. more » “Interview with the Artist Cunene”
